Video Game

Nitro Driver is a video created for a college web class. We were 2 people working on the project, one being the coder and the other being the designer, I was the latter. It is a racing game where you have to pick up fuel tanks in order to keep the car running, but you have to beware of potholes, as they damage the vehicle, but also make you lose some fuel. The further you get, and the more fuel you pick up, the faster the car goes.

Challenge

Apart from the actual codding for the game, the main challenge as the designer was providing the coder with all of the elements he needed. There are a lot of things to account for, the main page, the icons, the main visuals of the game, the background, etc. Every SVG needs to be a certain size, with no space surrounding it, otherwise it would not fit properly or would have too much excess space.

Solution

Once I got an idea for how I wanted the game to look, and creating the first piece of the puzzle, making the rest of it fit together and be one was quite simple. Measurements had to be very precise, but once I figured it out, it was just about creating the remaining elements in the same fashion. It took some time to create all of the components, but it came out looking better in the end.
