Merch Design
These fake merch designs were created for the popular pop artist ‘Olivia Rodrigo’. These do not actually exist and are not for sale, it was just a project for fun. They were made for her first and so far only album titled ‘Sour’.
Challenge
As a fan of Olivia Rodrigo and her music, I was potentially interested in buying some of her merch, but when I checked out her website, I wasn’t a fan of the designs. With this design, I really wanted to integrate the aesthetic of her album ‘Sour’, being very playful and colorful. I wanted it truly capture her persona and put it on a sweater.
Solution
I chose to make my own merch for the artist, instead of buying one I don’t like. On the cover of her ‘Sour’ album, there were a lot of pinks and purple, but the most noticeable feature being the playful stickers stuck on her face. Another striking element would be the title of the album on her poked-out tongue. I added these 2 ideas together and decided to recreate the tongue, but make it look as though it was a sticker like the ones on her face.
