Training Manual

This training manual is for people who are interested in learning how to read tarot, but don’t know where to start. It is very precise and detailed, starting with the origins of tarot and how it became popular. It tells the reader how to prepare for the activity, how to interpret the cards, and how to do readings for yourself and others. There are also multiple pages that describe each and every card that is in a deck so that the reader may use the manual when interpreting.

Challenge

On of the main challenges was trying to fit all the information into one booklet. There is so much to understand about tarot, and I could’ve written a lot more for the history behind it, but I had to keep it brief. The meaning of the cards also could’ve been more fleshed out, but I only had so much room on a page. I wanted to keep all of the suits together on one page, so I had to think hard about placement.

Solution

By condensing a lot of the information and being smart with the placement of the text, pictures, and symbols, I managed to fit all of the important features. Instead of writing a full and proper paragraph for each card meaning, I decided to instead use keywords so that it would summarize what the card means, but not take up as much space.
